It was only a few short months ago that then CEO, Kaseya co-founder and vice chairman Fred Voccola sat on stage with Rich Tehrani at MSP Expo , part of the ITEXPO #TECHSUPERSHOW. The conversation took place just after Voccola announced he would be stepping down as CEO, commenting that it was “the right time for me to step up into another role, such as role of vice chairman and we are in the process of finding a CEO.”
Today, that search is officially over as Kaseya has named Rania Succar its new CEO. The announcement comes as a time when Kaseya stands at an impressive global scale, powering nearly 50,000 MSPs and internal IT departments that collectively support hundreds of thousands of SMBs worldwide. Succar’s appointment signals a strategic direction for Kaseya’s next phase of innovation, platform depth, and deeply customer-centric growth, following on the success of the company’s Kaseya 365 platform , which it launched just over a year ago.
Rania Succar
Succar brings a formidable track record of accelerating growth and driving innovation squarely focused on the SMB market. Her nine-year tenure at Intuit saw her lead large-scale businesses dedicated to helping small and mid-market companies thrive. As the former Head of QuickBooks Money, her teams delivered tangible improvements in financial outcomes for businesses by enabling faster payments, easier access to capital, and smarter cash flow forecasting, resulting in significant growth in payments volume and expanded capital access.
More recently, as GM of Mailchimp after it was acquired by Intuit, she fueled revenue growth for SMBs through the introduction of advanced AI and SMS capabilities, expanded international reach, and led the platform’s successful integration into Intuit’s broader ecosystem. Her experiencealso spans prior roles at Google, McKinsey, and Merrill Lynch, providing a diverse and robust foundation in technology, strategy, and finance.
Succar earned her BA in Economics from Harvard College, her MBA from Harvard Business School, and her MPA in International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School.
"We’re very proud of the scale and impact Kaseya has achieved – becoming a critical platform for MSPs supporting small and mid-sized businesses navigating increasingly complex IT and security demands,” stated Mike Triplett, Chairman of the Board at Kaseya and Managing Director at Insight Partners. “In our search for a new CEO, we sought a leader with the vision and capability to elevate Kaseya into one of the most essential platforms for MSPs and the broader SMB technology ecosystem.”
None of that is earth-shattering, and it’s exactly what you would expect in a comment about a new CEO.
But, Triplett followed with a sneak peek into what could be on the horizon for Kaseya: “Rania’s bold leadership and track record in building and scaling innovative, customer-centric businesses for the SMB market make her an ideal leader to guide Kaseya into its next chapter and potential IPO.”
Whether or not that plays out remains to be seen – there were rumors it was exploring an IPO a few years ago, which never materialized. If nothing else, it certainly hints at significant growth ambitions.
That aside, Succar’s appointment is poised to intensify its focus on product excellence and innovation. Her proven ability to scale technology platforms that empower SMBs aligns perfectly with Kaseya’s core mission. She has already exhibited a keen eye for leveraging AI, which may drive an accelerated timeline for Kaseya’s AI-powered offerings, at a time when AI is becoming increasingly important for MSPs struggling to manage increasingly complex IT and security demands.
For Kaseya’s vast network of MSP partners, this transition promises to bring continued positive momentum. As IT environments grow more complex and security becomes ever more essential, MSPs rely on platforms like Kaseya to deliver comprehensive solutions to their SMB clients. Succar brings a history of delivering to that market, which bodes well for a leadership approach that prioritizes the unique needs and challenges of MSPs serving this segment.
Succar expressed her excitement and commitment:
“Over the past few months, as I’ve gotten to know Kaseya, I’ve been inspired by the scale and impact of what this team has built. With AI accelerating and IT demands rising, the opportunity ahead is immense.
To our MSP partners and IT customers: I’m excited to work hand-in-hand with you to fuel your success and deliver meaningful outcomes for the SMBs you serve. You have my full commitment to product excellence, innovation and partnership.
To the Kaseya team: I can’t wait to get to know you and build with you. You’ve already accomplished so much—now let’s build on that momentum together.
Here we go!”
Her emphasis on product excellence, innovation, and direct partnership with MSPs will likely translate into a renewed focus on delivering solutions that directly address the pain points and growth opportunities for Kaseya’s channel partners. With AI accelerating and IT demands rising, her leadership is expected to further empower MSPs to navigate these complexities, enhance their service offerings, and ultimately drive greater success for the SMBs they serve.
